Ashamed, guilty & out!!!

It seems that CEOs of Fortune 500 companies are out to destroy the credibility of markets. It’s simple pure greed, which drives the corporate leaders to indulge in malpractices. The latest culprit this time is from South Korea – Hyundai Motor Co. Chairman, Chung Mong Koo–held guilty for embezzlement to the tune of $100 million to feed the ever hungry politicians and to stuff his own pockets. The Seoul Central Court has awarded the business leader 3 years imprisonment for the white-collar crime. The development does not augur well for the Korean economy which is desperately awaiting a better news to lift up its spirits.

Campaign

Bailouts, ad-campaigns and of course, M. Damodaran (who took over as the chairman of UTI) were some of the changes that swept though the entity (and thankfully so!) during the post-crisis years. UTI mutual funds (was established in 2003 after the repeal of UTI Act 1963), however, endeavoured to re-establish itself and spent crores on promotional campaigns (in addition to M. Damodaran, the new Chairman’s efforts to reassure the investor community) in order to change the perception of the investors. And boy, did it succeed! The recent past has only seen public trust rising in its favour. One recent campaign which stands out in this respect is the ‘UTI ke desh mein aapka swagat hai’ campaign, which worked wonders for it.

DNA Number Two Newspaper in Mumbai

DNA came out on the stands on July 30, 2005, armed with an editorial team that had the likes of Ayaz Menon, Sidharth Bhatia, Arati Jerath, Gautam Adhikari to name a few. DNA quickly created an impact with the reader through its all-colour newspaper, that also boasted of a smarter and sleeker design, providing analyses, views and of course news in an interactive fashion. Today, DNA has become the number two newspaper in Mumbai, and just within a year or so... Top 25 for us? Compellingly yes!
